Select the measuring task
For a tape-measure order, describe the task, required reach and preferred format. Pocket tape measures suit different carrying requirements from larger retractable tape measures. Review the listed length and markings for the exact item. Where measurement accuracy is critical to the job, ask for the appropriate product documentation rather than assuming a promotional item has a particular accuracy class.
Coordinate the work kit
If the tape measure forms part of a branded work kit, list the other items and packaging separately. Request the usable branding area and confirm that the artwork remains readable at the actual size. Keep one approved sample or proof with the order reference. Check the quantity, supplied accessories and delivery requirements in writing before approving a larger workforce order.
Prepare the enquiry
For tape measures and measuring tools, send the selected product reference, quantity and delivery area together. Add photographs, dimensions or a configuration list where they explain the requirement. Separate essential features from preferences so alternatives can be assessed properly. Review the final quotation against that brief, including VAT treatment, included components, additional work and the proposed delivery arrangement.
